Event - PRESTON DOCKLANDS MOTOX TRACK
Group - GFoz(WR450F) & Pete(GasGas 250)
Date - Sunday 6th January 2008

Trax
Riverside Park, Wallend Road, Preston PR2 2HW

Follow the signs to Preston city centre and then follow the Riversway Preston Docklands signs. Trax is sign posted from there and is on the west side of Riversway behind the Audi Garage adjacent to Makro.

Pete rang me to see if I would like to go over to Preston with him and visit a MotoX track called TRAX. As I had never been to this track before I jumped at the chance. Pete had a two bike trailer so he collected me, my bike and gear and we set off to find the track. Sat Nav would have been better but we got there in the end.

Trax has a Go-Karting/Supermoto track and there is a Paintball centre there also. The MotoX track is behind these. I'm not sure if they are all owned by the same people but it's a great place to play. As we turned up the paddock was packed with vans and bikes. There is a butty van for tea and coffee etc plus on site loos.

We signed on and paid our £25.00 each for the day. We were issued with a coloured wrist band as the track time is split up into 20 minute sessions throughout the day.

Group C = Kids

This is a sandy track but it was still very muddy in places due to the amount of rain we had for a few days prior. Even though there were a lot of ruts that developed throughout the day they were not a problem as long as you kept your speed up. As the ground was so sloppy most of the ruts could be ignored unless you were in the corners were they were a bit deeper. There are a couple of big tabletop jumps on this track and a few smaller jumps mixed in for good measure.

The event was well organised and there were plenty of marshals dotted around the track. Overall I thought the track was good but I would really like to try it when it is not so wet to see if I can get more airtime off the jumps.

Well worth £25.00 for the day! We had a great day and it was great to get back on the bike after the Christmas festivities. Note to self: Must get fit this year and pack in the cigs as MotoX lets you know how just how unfit you really are!

Thanks for a great day Pete. See you on the trails next week!
